The white business signs that have been removed along county roads are being held at the transfer station. The will be returned only to the business owners. If you would like your sign back please contact Jeff at transfersite@townofbarneswi.gov. Signs will be discarded after 12/31/2025.
Tracy Pooler is the Bayfield County Ass’t Zoning Administrator. Satellite office in Barnes will now be open on Tuesdays from 10am-12pm. You can reach him at the County office 715-373-6138 or via email. For additional Planning & Zoning information go here. The county has set up a webpage for the public to obtain information and updates pertaining to the zoning ordinances or code rewrite project that is underway.
Starting October 1, 2025, the transfer site will be returning to its Winter schedule. Wednesdays 8am-2pm and Sundays 8am-2pm. 2026 site passes will be available for purchase as of December 1, 2025 at a cost of $120 per calendar year. Payment options are checks and credit/debit cards only. Passes are REQUIRED for ALL uses of the Transfer Site and Brush Dump (even Recycling)
The Food Shelf at the Community Church is open the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9-11am.
The Barnes Ambulance is offering free monthly vitals check the first and third Thursday of every month at the Town Hall from 11am-12pm. Learn more here.
